Cookie Policy (EU)

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This page lists the cookies and similar storage that survivalreport.org uses, and what outside companies may store when you load the site. For how we handle personal information more generally, see the Privacy Policy.

In short

  • We do not run an analytics tool and our pages do not use browser local storage.
  • The site sets a few small cookies of its own, and only when you use a feature (the accessibility menu, the table of contents toggle, or the cookie notice).
  • Advertising cookies come from Google AdSense. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's own consent message asks for your choice first.

The accessibility menu's reset option returns the display to its defaults. We do not use these cookies to identify you or to track you across sites. When a member of our team signs in to manage the site, WordPress sets login cookies for that person; visitors who do not sign in do not receive them.

Cookies and storage from outside companies

Google AdSense (advertising)

Google and its advertising partners may store or read cookies and similar identifiers in your browser to serve and measure ads, limit how often an ad is shown, prevent fraud, and, where you allow it, personalize ads. We cannot give a fixed list of cookie names because Google sets them and may change them. Google describes them by purpose on its cookie page, and explains how it uses information from sites like ours at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, your consent is collected through Google's own certified consent message ("Privacy & messaging"), which keeps a record of your choice so you are not asked every time. You can change personalization at any time at adssettings.google.com.

YouTube (embedded videos)

Most videos on the site show a preview image and load the player from youtube-nocookie.com only after you click play. The preview image is requested from YouTube's image servers when the page loads. Two older articles embed the YouTube player directly; those contact YouTube as soon as the page opens, and YouTube may set its own cookies. See Google's cookie page.

Amazon and other affiliate networks

Two articles load Amazon product widgets and images (from amazon-adsystem.com). When you click an affiliate link to Amazon, ClickBank or another affiliate network, that company may set cookies so that a purchase can be credited to us. These cookies come from those companies and are governed by their policies.

Fonts and icons

Page fonts load from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) and an icon font loads from BootstrapCDN (maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com). These are file requests that reveal your IP address and browser details to those services; we do not use them to set cookies.

What we do not use

  • No analytics tool. Google Search Console is used only to see search performance and places nothing on the site.
  • No social-media tracking pixels.
  • No newsletter, account or comment cookies, because the site has none of those features.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the way to do so differs by browser. Blocking the cookies listed above only means the accessibility menu and table-of-contents box will not remember your choices. To control Google ad personalization, use adssettings.google.com. To ask us a question, use the contact form at /contact/.
